Applied Recovery is much more than just sober living. It is a systematic and comprehensive approach to planning out the first year of sobriety for people recovering from drug and alcohol addictions.

You’ve probably heard that addiction is a chronic disease – much like diabetes or asthma. Applied Recovery is a recovery program of disease management. This program is designed by the same principles that doctors and nurses use to teach patients how to effectively manage their chronic conditions and symptoms. This approach to recovery supports our residents in living sober and learning successful coping skills to deal with the daily stressors and challenges all addicts face. Learning these coping skills is paramount for recovery and developing healthy habits so they can lead long and abundant sober lives. By translating disease management into recovery management, people seeking help from their addictions have the best chance for long-term sobriety.

Upon arrival at LeMont, the staff and residents develop a unique, personalized recovery plan that includes:

• A clean and safe residence in a sober living environment

• A highly effective protocol of daily urine and breath testing to ensure abstinence from drugs and alcohol, and to detect relapse quickly

• Identify and design an active and definable Applied Recovery action plan to achieve those things that are meaningful and provide purpose to the resident.

• Active participation in aftercare groups, intensive outpatient treatment programs, and/or individual professional counseling

• Opportunities to establish supportive relationships in the sober-living community here in Utah

• Exposure to various peer-based recovery support meetings (AA, NA,  etc.)

• Experienced guidance in formulating an effective relapse plan

• Encouragement of time management through employment, volunteer work, or education

• Assistance in establishing a professional relationship with a physician certified in addiction medicine

• Responsible staff who monitor the dispensing of appropriately prescribed medication

The purpose of the LeMont Michel sober home is to give the residents everything needed to execute an exciting and meaningful recovery plan and the support in the process of learning to be happy living a sober and fulfilled life!

Our program of Applied Recovery is unique and effective. The common inpatient drug rehab is about healing. The Applied Recovery program and the LeMont sober home are about performance. Our program helps each resident transition into the beautiful but challenging day-to-day experience of the world with support and structure. We provide the necessary assistance in facilitating the implementation of successful recovery elements in our resident’s life. When this recovery support is in place, LeMont residents’ increase their chances to get through their first year of sobriety. These elements are defined as Recovery Capital.
